Peptide Storage Guide - Before & After Reconstitution
5 min read
Why Storage Matters
Peptides are delicate molecules that can degrade when exposed to heat, light, moisture, or bacteria. Proper storage is essential for maintaining potency and safety.
Before Reconstitution (Lyophilized Powder)
- Short-term (up to 3 months): Room temperature, away from light
- Long-term (up to 2 years): Refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C
- Extended storage: Frozen at -20 degrees C for maximum stability
After Reconstitution
- Always refrigerate at 2-8 degrees C
- Never freeze reconstituted peptides
- Use within 3-4 weeks for most peptides
- Keep in original vial
Peptide-Specific Storage Times
BPC-157: 3-4 weeks refrigerated. TB-500: 3-4 weeks. Semaglutide: 6-8 weeks. Tirzepatide: 6 weeks. Ipamorelin: 4-6 weeks. MOTS-c: 7-10 days. Selank/Semax: 2-3 weeks.
Signs of Degradation
- Cloudiness or particles in the solution
- Color change
- Unusual smell
- Clumping that won't dissolve
